Lin, Ching-Lung
Biography

  Ching-Lung Lin is a Research fellow of the Research Center for Translation, Compilation and Language Education, National Academy for Educational Research (NAER). His research interests include the development of basic knowledge, the development of language education, and the study of science curricula and materials.

  He graduated from National Kaohsiung Normal University, National Tsing Hua University, and U. of Delaware with a master's degree and a doctorate, respectively. He was a teacher at high school, an associate professor and director of general affairs at a vocational school (it restructured into a university of technology now), a senior executive officer and director of the Nature Section of the National Institute for Compilation and Translation, and an associate researcher and director of the National Academy for Educational Research. 

  Lin believes that business development must be rooted in research, and has long been committed to promoting research and application in areas related to the Center's business, including the development of academic terminology translation; the translation and exhibition of academic works; the comparative analysis of primary and secondary school textbooks; the construction of a foundation for the sustainable development of Chinese language education in Taiwan - Corpus of Contemporary Taiwanese Mandarin, Taiwan Benchmarks for the Chinese Language, and an integrated application system; the construction of a curriculum foundation for Chinese language courses in primary and secondary schools; the construction of Taiwanese English corpus and educational framework and an integrated application system; the research for commonly used words and pronunciation in Taiwan; the development of learning dictionary for Chinese learning; and the development of digital teaching materials for Chinese teaching. His research results have been published in peer-reviewed journals and books. In his academic service, he has served on the editorial boards of Journals of Textbook Research and Compilation and Translation Review, and is currently on the advisory board of Compilation and Translation Review, as well as one of the authors of more than a dozen books.
