Li-Hsin Wang is an Assistant Researcher at the Center for Textbook Research and the Chief Librarian at the Textbook Library. His responsibilities in the library include maintaining the library’s catalog and the establishment and expansion of the digital archive of textbooks. He is also an editor of the Journal of Textbook Research and a member of the textbook approval committee for high school arts textbooks. Currently, Li-Hsin Wang is the Director of the Office of Planning. Thus, he is involved in planning for all of the NAER as well as in the integration of resources and promotion of the NAER’s research results.
Li-Hsin Wang obtained his undergraduate and master’s degrees in education at National Kaohsiung Normal University and was an intern teacher at Taipei Municipal Shipai Junior High School. Later, he completed his PhD in education from National Chengchi University in Taipei. His professional career began as an Assistant Editor at the National Institute for Compilation and Translation. In this institute, his responsibilities included editing primary school social studies textbooks and publishing academic books. He also helped in establishing the Journal of Textbook Research and worked there as Managing Editor. Through the course of his work, he has become familiar with the laws and regulations pertaining to governmental procurement. Moreover, he has obtained thorough understanding of each stage of textbook editing and publishing, including textbook layout and design. After the NAER was established in 2011, Li-Hsin Wang managed and participated in many projects related to textbook research. He specializes in textbook design, the historical development of textbooks, and the development of digital textbooks.
