Biography

  With an interest in early childhood education (ECE), Dr. Lee studied at the Department of Early Childhood Education, San Jose State University, to obtain a master’s degree. After working for 6 years, she went to the University of Illinois to obtain her PhD in ECE. Four years later, she returned to Taiwan and worked at the Taiwan Provincial Institute for Elementary School Teachers’ In-Service Training and NAER during three periods of educational reforms:

  Development of the “Moral and Health” experimental curriculum with the “Pancha Mode.”

  Development of the “Integrative Activity Learning Area” curriculum for the guidelines of the “Nine-Year Curriculum.”

  Development of the guidelines of the “Twelve-Year Basic Education Curriculum” and “Integrative Activity Curriculum.”

  Moreover, Dr. Lee has served as a kindergarten counselor and evaluator for the Bureau of Education, New Taipei City government. She conducted several studies pertaining to ECE at NSC and joined the “Social Area” team to develop a curriculum guideline for the new ECE curriculum. Furthermore, Dr. Lee taught the courses “Child’s Play” and “Learning from Child Observation” at San Jose State University.
