本研究探討四項後期中等教育重要問題:(1)後期中等教育學制的現況及問題;(2)普通高中/綜合高中/五專前三年課程銜接之現況問題;(3)探討美國AP課程之現況與成就;(4)探討美國AP與國際IB課程在我國實施的可行性。採用的研究方法包括焦點團體座談、訪談、文獻分析。研究發現顯示我國後期中等教育學制問題與大學入學考試及後期中等教育定位有密切關係。後期中等教育學制不論是在橫向或縱向銜接部份也都有改進空間。至於AP 與IB課程在國內的適用性,目前仍需謹慎,逐步實驗,不宜大範圍的推動,但是對於這兩個課程的精神,則可以應用在我國課程設計中。
This research project addressed four domains of upper-secondary education:conditions and problems of current upper-secondary education, curriculum connection within and among different tracks of upper-secondary education system, rationales, accomplishments and applicability of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate curriculum. Focused group interview, interviews, and literature reviews were used to address the research questions. In terms of the upper-secondary education system, college entrance exams and education goals of the upper-secondary education system remain to be the primary influencing factors. As to the curriculum connection, core competencies for upper-secondary education need to be specified clearly to allow for more choices and variation. Horizontal curriculum connection in each track is another issue to be revised. As to the applicability of AP and IB curriculum in Taiwan, cautions must be taken to before introducing AP and IB curriculum in a large scale.
