　　近年來，技職教育已日益成為各國政府的教育政策首要議題，本研究主要在探討七大工業國的技職教育制度。

　　技職教育根源於社會發展的需要，並與社會經濟密切結合，本研究聚焦於各國技職教育制度在外在環境壓力挑戰下的相關因應策略與措施。藉由文獻探討與制度分析，本研究對各國的技職教育體系作了精簡的介紹與描述，但教育制度盤根錯結，故相關問題的解決仍待相關人士眾志成城齊力以赴始克奏功。

　　技職教育是國家振興與經濟騰飛的必要條件，故持續精進並永續發展是全民共同努力的目標。從國際上看，技職教育的發展程度及普及狀況是衡量一個國家現代化程度和社會文明程度的一個標誌。縱觀國際社會，大凡已開發國家都有完善的技職教育體系和成熟的技職教育模式。如美國的社區學院、加拿大的CBE，特別是德國的「雙元制」教育，既對其二戰後的崛起發揮了強大的推動作用，又構成了德意志民族文化的一個重要特徵。

　　從歷史與社會的角度來看，技職教育有其發展規律，了解此規律並因勢利導，對於我國技職教育的改革與發展具有重要的現實意義。作者歸納相關的發展規律與影響因素，並揭櫫努力精進的重要舉措，提出型塑優質文化、鼓動社會參與、修訂政策法規、吸取國際經驗、推動終身學習等五方面，以作為未來努力方向之建議。

　　In recent years, vocational/technical education (VTE) has risen to the top of the education policy agenda for governors, legislators, and agency heads.In this study, vocational/technical education systems of G7 including Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, UK, and the USA are described.

　　Vocational/technical education is developed out of the requirement to integrate large parts of society into a broader or more extended education and, consequently, into an economic and social process. This study focuses on change in vocational/technical education in response to environmental pressures, more specifically pressures coming from European integration initiatives with respect to VT education.

　　By presenting documentary reviews and vocational education and training systems analysis from seven countries, wherever possible with specific reference to trainers in enterprises, the study offers a snapshot of the situation in the countries as regards competences and professional development of trainers. It is intended to start a discussion rather than give all the answers.
