With the innovation of digital technology, data-driven decision making has attracted wide attention in recent years, and has enhanced government officials’ consciousness of making relevant policy decisions by using reliable and valid evidences. Whereas the lack of integrative education data and its extensive applications causes more challenges for the government in bringing benefits of big data to its local advantage.The purpose of this article is to revise Taiwan’s Common Education Data Exchange Standards. After elaborating the challenges which the government confronts in dealing with education data integration, and reviewing some literatures regarding to building up common education data standards from European Union, U.S., Australia, and Korea, researchers propose the version 4.0 revision of Taiwan’s Common Education Data Exchange Standards. Its content, function, and value is concisely depicted in the article and suggestions are also proposed for future usage.
