As an official education think tank in Taiwan, the long-term research orientation of NAER includes the domains of curriculum & instruction, human resource management, equity and quality, and educational accountability. Through integrated research programs, we look ahead to the development requirements of national education, keep abreast of current trends, systematically collect long-term data, and objectively analyze and evaluate them in order to make evidence-based policy-advices.
Curriculum Guidelines presents the educational philosophy and curriculum development, as a basis for planning school instructional activities, editing textbooks and evaluating students’ achievements. The development of the curriculum, the improvement of the textbook system and the construction of a knowledge base are all the prerequisite for the innovation of elementary and secondary education.
Educational development should emphasize equity and quality, and different aptitude of each child as well. Pluralistic values, equal rights and opportunities in education, and easy access to educational resources are all essential to cultivate outstanding and confident individuals.
Educational Accountability investigates the effectiveness, problems and causes of education inputs, planning evidence-based strategies and resource allocation thereafter. It integrates learning indicators and longitudinal study for elementary, secondary and college students to create an open, transparent and accountable society.
