Chen Yi-mei
Biography

I-Mei Chen holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature from Fu Jen Catholic University. Her research interests include Chinese linguistics, lexicography, Chinese character studies, and corpus-based analysis. She has long been engaged in the practical work and theoretical study of Mandarin Chinese dictionary compilation, with particular attention to the development of language resources that support teaching and learning.

Since 1996, she has participated in dictionary compilation projects commissioned by the Ministry of Education, contributing to the editing of several major Mandarin Chinese dictionaries. She has also served as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Chinese Literature at Fu Jen Catholic University, where she taught undergraduate courses related to reference works and dictionary compilation.

In recent years, her research has focused on learner-oriented dictionary frameworks, corpus-driven lexical analysis, and the application of artificial intelligence in dictionary compilation. Since 2023, she has led the first self-compiled dictionary project at the National Academy for Educational Research, aiming to develop a Mandarin Chinese learner’s dictionary for primary and secondary education and to promote innovation in lexicographic methodology.
